CRICKET. /WELLINGTON ASSOCIATION. NEW COMMITTEE MEETS. The first meeting of the new committee of the Wellington Cricket Association was hold, in the (Jrcidpiitul Hotel last evening, 'Mr. Martin Luckie presiding. After some discussion it was agreed to offer the Wednesday Cricket Association 50 per cent, of tlic'net takinefs of a match against-tin- South Melbourne eleven, with a minimum guarantee of .£75. Messrs. C. G. Wilson, F. Laws, and C. E. Stevens were elected a senior championship and grounds committee. The Rroiinds.committee was requested tofurnish a report upon the condition of tlio practice pitches on the eastern side, .f the Basin Reserve with , a view to ascertaining when such will be ready. It was resolved to make inquiries as to providing wickets for the Wellington Public Schools Cricket Association during the coining season. Junior . and third-class championship committees were elected. . . ' A generous offer was received from the Wellington College, agreeing to place at the disposal of the Cricket Association a wicket on the. College'ground for senior matches until the middle of December in the event of it being required. The. opinion was expressed that wickets would be available for practice on Saturday week. The championship matches for all clashes will commence on Saturday, October'l9. A' special committee, consisting of Messrs. Midlane, Laws, Hood, and Lnckie, representing -four : senior district clubs, was set up and instructed to furnish a report within'two months upon the question of a rovision of the various city district boundaries for the season 1912-1913. ■ Until further notice, meetings of the committee will be 'held on Tuesday evenings in each week. . Mr..Luckio was re-elected chairman for the ensuing season. It was decided to arrange a match for the New South Wales teachers against a representative eleven during the second week in January, the exact date to be fixed later. . TEACHERS' TOURING TEAM. V team of New South Wales teachers will tour New Zealand in December next during the Christmas holidays, and play matches against New Zealand teachers teams. Tho New South Wales team is as follows:—Metropolitan players: F. M'Mullen, J. O'Neill. 0. Smith, T. W. Dunn, J. Myers, • S. Freeman, -C. Schrader, V. Brady, R.-Harvey; A; Sattler, J. Walsh, and Barnes. Country players:. J. Kose, R. Moore. A. Morris. Bowlers: J. Cos-' grove,-R.Elston,.and others. Manager:Joseph Brooine. ■ The proposed itinerary is as follows:— December 18,-arrive at Wellington; December 19, play Wellington teachers; December 20 and 21, play Wellington representative team. The tour will include games at Palmerston North, Napier, AVanganui, Rotorua, and Auckland. The. team will" leave Auckland for Sydney on January '•' 13. , '

THE TEMPLARS CLUB. Tho annual meeting of the Templars Cricket Club was held at the Y.M.C.A> rooms last evening, 'Mr. G. Price presiding. ■ " . Price (all reelected), R. Blenkinsop, and AV. n. Atkinson: sub-captaiii, Mr. AV. A. Allan; secretary, G. Lambert;, treasurer, E. Dooley;" Management Committee, Messrs. AVright, Crc-swell, AVpsterby, Denby, Bruce, Howitt; Selection Committee, captain, vice-president, and club captain; auditors, Messrs. -AV. A. Allan, and G. According to the annual report and lxilance-sheet (adopted), the teatn won the third-class championship last season, playing eighteen matches and winning them all. The' team compiled 48 points out. of f. possible 51, and only completed four innings during " the whole eighteen matches. The highest scores were made by V. Farrell (103 not. out) and T. Sauverin (95), while J. Blenkinsop secured tho bast bowling average by capturing SO wickets for an average of 1.85 runs per wicket. E. Dooley secured 70 wickets at tho rate of 6.17 runs per wicket. The trophies for the season were won as follow:—Batting, T. Sauverin; bowling, J. Blenkinsop; highest score, V. Farrell; fielding, B. AVright; catching, S. Cre?s----well; best all-round player, E. Dooley; most improved player, E. Ryan. Owing to the exceptionally good season, 'silver medals were awarded to the other four players. The club came through the, whole season with only . twelve playing members. The intention of the club is to play junior grade in tho coming season , . KYMI CLUB. i The annual meeting of the Kymi Cricket Club'was held-in the Clubroom, Kilbiruio Wesley Church, on Monday evening. Thero was a good attendance. The following officers were elected:— President, Mr. Clyde L.'Carr; vice-presi-dents, Dr. Newman, Mr. Mann, Mr. F. Lamberg, Mr. E. A. Clarke, Mr. AV. B. Summers, Mr. J. Creighton; captain, Mr. AV.
