Peter Bruno, a wealthy Italian cafeowner, appealed to the police for protection on receiving a third of a series of letters from blackmailers. The sum' of 1500 dollars (,£300) was demanded bythe blackmailers. It was not paid and tho cafe was dynamited. , Bruno says ho has been driven from Portland and El Paso, Texas, by blackmailers. _, ■
