Reports from Augusta, Georgia, where martial law has been proclaimed, in consequence of a strike riot, state that a number of strike-breakers have arrived from' New York. Mr. Ben B. Baker, a business man, was shot by the soldiers. This makes three deaths during tho rioting. A feature of tho strike is the orderliness of the large crowds which have watched the rioting. . . _ ' , I ' '■ BLOODSHED FEARED IN UTAH. New York, September 29. 'The situation in connection with the strike at the Bingham mines, Utah, continues serious. Further bloodshed is feared. FIGHTING AT LAWRENCE. (Rec. September 30, 9.35 p.m.) New York, September 29. Because ■ throo of the workers have '■ been sent to gaol on a charge of killing two men during tho winter strike at Salem, the Industrial Workers of the World,- without permission from the civic authorities, paraded the streets of Lawrence, Massachusetts. The police interfered, and a fight with knivef and clubs ensued. Two constables • were stabbed, and three workers wero arrested. Tho mob, however, freed one of their imprisoned leaders.
