The American Government has approved of tho amnesty, as likely to restore peace.,. Zapata has been the leader of the revolt ill the south of Mexico, and has from timo tO tinte made himjelf troublesome in the vicinity of the capital. There has, it is stated, been a Considerable increase' in the cost ol food in Mexico City, owini; to the fact that Zapata has ravaged tho fields for so long that rto vegetables cart bo grown and no crops garnered.
