/ NEW.ZEALAND UNION MEE'rl Tho Management. Committee of tho New Zealand Ihigby Union inet on Wednesday evening, Mr. N. Gnlbraith presiding*. Tho chairman, presenting the report of the sub-committeo appointed to confer with tho New South Wales delegates, with regard to a settlement of accounts between tho New South Wales Union and the Now Zealand Union, said that the ZNew South Wales Union ivaa claiming -£15G odd. Tho Now Zealand Union had not really made up the statement' of moneys owing to it, as they had not agreed to tho percentages. The New South Wales delegate, however, had made certain. proposals with regard to three of the matches, which the University team participated in on the same day; as the New Zealand match was played, and as tho result were allowed a further percentage, in these three and also took into account the receipts at' Orange and Maitland. As the result of this the respective amounts for New . South Wales and Now Zealand were almost equalised, the receipts for New Zealand being ,£80«.18s. Gd., and those for New South Wales J27BC 10s. sd. Tho loss oil tho tour of tho American University team totalled .£lß9l os. lid., the proportion being ,£933 3s. Tho I letter was referred back to the West Coast Union for further information touching the circumstances. The suspension of an Otago player by his union for the offenco/of "striking at a player" was confirmed, tho period of suspension being till tho end of 1912. Nineteen players were expcJlcd from the Hawko's Bay Union for having taken part in a Northern Union game, the expulsion following upon a reoommendation from the Hawke's Bay Union. • The Marlborough Upion, in a letter, suggested that a special general meeting of the New Zealand Rugby Union should b? called to consider tho present state of Rugby football in tho Dominion, and to take steps for ; its betterment.. Tho Marlborough Union, it was added, was convinced that now was tho time .for action, and that delays would bo dangerous. The letter was characterised as rubbish by one of tho speakers, who expressed his contempt by a familiar colloquialism of five letters. "Rugby's all right," said Mr. Wylie. "What we want is a better spirit in tho game, and less hair-splitting about tho rules!" The chairman agreed, and it was agreed that in view, of a previous decision of tho delegates with regard to this matter, it was not desirablo to call a meeting at this stage. ■ ' It was referred to the delegates-at the next annual meeting to consider an application from the-West Coast Union to havt the North v. South Island match played at Greymouth next year.
