Mv. Baldwin also pointed out that tho ' number of children attending the schools ' in the nult Valley was 2230, as against 18!H children attending the schools ill tho ■ Manawalu district. Tho cost per head ; for teaching the children was .C.'l lis. for the Hutt Valley, and .CI 4s. 7d. for tlio Horowhcmm district. The number of representatives on the School Conunitteo .was 118 for Hutt Valley, and 111 for Horowhenila, thus showing that tlio llult Vnl- ; ley was outvoted ili tho matter of educational representation. After discussion, it was resolved, 011 tho motion of Mr. Bell: "That a deputation ■ of delegates from nil schools interested should wait 011 Mr. Will'ord and ask him to lake steps to have a separate ward formed for the Hntt Valley, so that they could have their own representative."
