A wireless message received last evening from the Union Company' 3 intercolonial liner Maunganui stated that it was expected that she would arrive at Wellington from Sydney at 4 p.m. to-day. The vessel berths at the Queen's Wharf No. 1 south. EUAHINE AT HOBAET. Cable advice received from Hobart yesterday morning announced tho arrival of the New Zealand Sliippins Company's R.M.S. Ruahine from London, via Hobart. The liner was (scheduled to leave in continuation of her journey to Wellington at 10 e.ra. to-day. She should mako port on Sunday afternoon.

Instead of leaving Wellington for London this afternoon as originally intended, the departure, of the Now Zealand Shipping Company's Turakina has been postponed until 6 a.m. to-morrow. KAIPAEA AT AUCKLAND. Yesterday morning the Xew Zealand Shipping Company's steamer Kaipara arrived at Auckland from Liverpool, via. way ports. Discharge at tho northern port of her cargo is expected to be completed in time for her to leave for Wellington ou Saturday evenin?. The Kaipara is under charter to the F. and S. Line, and 16 due at Wellington.about Tuesday morning next. RANGATIEA DUE FRIDAY. Scheduled to leave, Auckland for Wellington at davbreak to-day, the Shaw-Sav-ill steamer -Eangatira. should show up here some time on Friday. SUEBET LEAVES CAPE TOWN. Advices received by the local agents for the F. and S. Line state that tho steamer Surrey, which left Liverpool for Wellington on August 24, continued her journey from Cane Tows on Thursday last, September 19. The Haiiroto left Auckland for Westport direct yesterday afternoon. She loads at the Weit Coast port for Wellington. At 9 a.m. yesterdav the Arahura left Greymouth for Westport, Nelson, Picton, and Wellington. Port should be made about 10 p.m. to-d-ay. The cablegram briefly reporting a lire on the Xew Zealand Shipping Company's steamer Waknnui is confirmed by advice received locally to-dav. It was not a- very serious outbreak, and was extinguished, apparently without damage to t-ho ship. The Wakanui was expected to sail from Montreal Inst Saturday for Xcw Zealand ports, via Melbourne and Sydney. The Warriiuoo, which has been undergoing overhaul at Port Chalmers, for some lime past, will not resume until October 27. On that date she will sail for Hobart and Melbourne, thus relieving the Jlaitai. The Maitai, which will arrive at Port Chalmers on October 26. from Sydney, via Wellington, will withdraw for overhaul.
