MOKAU AGAIN.
MR. JOSHUA JOXES'S PETITION. In the House of Representatives yesterday afternoon, the Hon. W. F. Mnssey (Prime Minister) gave notice io move:— "That n Select Committee be appointed with power to confer with any similar Committee of the Legislative Council, and with power to agreo to a joint report with such Committee, to whom shall be referred the petition of Joshua Jones, of Mokau, with power to call for persons and papers, and to report to this House: Whether the petitioner has suffered less of any right conferred upon him by statute or under tho provisions of any deed or deeds of lease by reason of any amendment of tho statute law of Now Zealand, br of any matter or thing-done or omitted by the Government of New Zealand, such Committee to consist of Messrs. G. .T. Anderson, J. Craigie, W. J. Dickie, M. Mander, and C. E. Statha.ni." In tho Legislative Council the Hon. H. D. Bell gave notico to move that the following Select Committee bo appointed to confer with a Committee from the House of Representatives:—The Hous. C. M. Luke, .1. T. Paul,. J. Rigg, J. An6tey, and S. Thorno George.
