MAGISTRATE'S COURT.

(Before Mr. W. G. Eiddell, S.M'.-) At the Magistrate's Court yesterday morning, four Spanish greasers, belonging to s.s. Corinthic, were convicted and discharged for drunkenness. One of their number was ordered to pay 10s. (Id. for medical expensed. Fqr insobriety, Ada Edwards, alias Stewart, a prohibited person, was fined 10s., in default twenty-four hours' imprisonment, and Edith Potter, on a similar' chnrge, was fined 55., in default 2-t hours' imprisonment.. Evelyn Butler was fined 205., in default three days' imprisonment, and was declared an habitual drunkard. A prohibition order was made against her also. Henry Richard Balding, a prohibited person, was fined 10s. for insobriety, in default 24- hours' imprisonment." Christopher Truan, also charge of drunkenness, in default 21 days' imprisonment, and for resisting tho police he-was fined 20s„ in default seven days. Timothy Donovan, a prohibited person, was lined £3 for drunkenness, or 21 days' in gaol. Lawrence Howard, a fireman on the Corinthic, was fined as., in default 21 hours' imprisonment, for insobriety, and, on a charge of assaulting Harry Mitchell, fireman on the same steamer, ho was fined 405., with costs 45., in default seven days' imprisonment. One first offender was fined 10s., in default 21 hours' imprisonment. Fred White and Joseph Hemmings were jointly charged with the theft of a silver watch, valued at, £1 55., the property of William Smithman. They were remanded until September 25. Bail -was'allowed in the sum of .£lO each, with a surety for a like amount.
