ROWDY STUDENTS.
NO GUARANTEE OF GOOD BEHAVIOUR. The discussion in regard to the disturbances which occurred ut the last capping ceremony in connection with the Auckland University College is not yet closed. Two letters in regard to the disturbances were received at Monday's meeting of the Collesre/Council. The executive of the Students' Association intimated that it hud decided (0 Forward an explanation to the Professorial Board, but regretted-Hint it had not the power to guarantee the good conduct ul the students on future occasions, seeing that fresh' executives would be in office. However, nt the next general meeting the matter would be brought l>eforo (he students and an endeavour made to impress upon them the need for seemly behaviour. The Professorial Hoard forwarded the following resolution:—'"l'hnt the Students' Association, throueh its executive, having declared its inability to furnish any guarantee against: the repetition of the disorder, the Professorial Board t-ecs no reason io withdraw its , recommendation to the Chancellor to suspend tho ceremony for 111 least one year. The whole matter was referred to a committee for report. ,
