Six further robberies are reported, jewellery and clothing to the value of ,£l4O being involved. ' Two men were returning home last night when they were assaulted and Tobbed. The ordinary police patrols have been strengthened, and a night patrol, similar to Melbourne's, is being hastily organised. (Rec. September 22, 5.5 p.m.) ! Sydney, September 22. Three more robberies are Teported, tho loss being estimated at BURGLARS AT WORK. Melbourne, September 21. Burglars, utilising a cart, utole .£I3OO worth of leather from the premises of Peatte's, boot manufacturers, at Collingwood. • Two hundred and fifty ponnn's" , worth of loot left in the yard was recovered.
