September 22, 5.5 p.m.) London, September 21. l Five thousand apprentices in the engineers' shops in Manchester and Snlford have struck for an extra shilling a week. . STRIKE OF MINERS. Salt Lake City, September 20. The Labour Federation is endeavouring to causo the strike of miners to spread to New Mexico, Arizona, and- Kevada mine property. In such 'event, 6000 additional men will be affected, NOT TO BE REINSTATED.' , (Rec. September 22, 5.5 p.m.) " London, September 21. The Bank of England has declined to reinstate the strikers. DISPUTES SETTLED. (Rec. September 22, 5.5 p.m.) London, September 21. -Lord Saint Aldwyn has settled the outstanding disputes in. South Wales and Monmouthshire in favour of the men. The piece-workers' contentions are upheld. A minimum of 4s. 7d. is granted in all cases, not restricting it to days eiceeding seven in three months, when a man is working away from the working place. Lord Saint Aldwyn decided that the minimum of 4s. 7d. should be continued when other work is given to those unable to earn wages by piecework. m .u.m.ii i .iHuii.j—
