HAWKE'S BAY SHOW.
The agricultural and pastoral thow season is fast approaching, and the first oh tfie list, as usual, is the annual spring show of tho Hawke's Bay Agricultural and Pastoral Society, which will be held at Hastings on October 16 and 17 next. Already the breeders of stock throughout the island are making preparations to be represented at this show. No society is more progressive than is the Hawko'a Bay Society, and it is onlj necessary to glance through the large number of classes for horses, sheep, and cuttle to understand why it is the Hawke's Bay show is such a great stock show. The light horses are stated to be given the larger classification of any show in New Zealaiid, and tho special prize, list is possibly the most liberal in the Dominion, while draughts and thoroughbreds ns> usual are well catered for, and in these classes two-year-olds are now eligible for championship honours. additions to the Romnejr and fat stock classes uialte the sheep section also one of the' most "comprehensive to be found anywhere outside of Canterbury, and breeders will no doubt respond liberally with entries. Beef and dairy cattle are well treated, both in the matter of classification and prize money. Breeders and exhibitors of stock will note that tho Hailway Department has granted' concessions with regard to the running of stock trains, and these will now run both from-the West Coast and Wairarapa stations at such times as will enable the trains to arrive at Hastings about 5.3 ft p.m., arid to have the stock landed,, in daylight. The prizo mbiiey amounts to ■ .£1634.' Entrics ; close on October 2. "'' ' " " ' ' '
"There's money in it," is an observation sufficient in itself to make the average factory manager cock his ears. And if ho has any "go" in him. he gets at the root of the matter in time.' This accounts for the great success of "Victor" Yats-there's money in them, as dairy' men quickly realise. Better send along.that order toKiay.. j.lfiprt J. P.arton. Carterton—Advt
