THE dependable Rudgo Motor Cycls was again victorious in n recent LondonEdinburgh Reliability Trial. Ten Rudges entered and all completed the long journey with honours. Thcro has just been housed in the Londun Zoo a rare ornithological specimen that has not been seen in England for half a century. The Balaeniceps rex, otherwise tlio "Shoobill, otherwise the Whalo-headed Stork, is the official description of this interesting species. It. is fai and away the ugliest bird in the gardens The gift'of 'Lieutenant-General Sir Fran, cis Wingate, the shocbill stands about three feet in height. Its plumage i< grey, its proportions suggestive of th< stork; and its head, which is two-third! beak, is disproportionately large. The bird inhabits the morasses traversed bt tho upper branches of tho White Nile.
