RAILWAY ACCIDENTS.
THE DITTON CATASTROPHE. i * _i By Telegraph—Press Association—Copyrich/ London, September 18. The fireman injured in the railway smash at Ditton is dead. Three others aro in a critical condition. A baby girl had a marvellous escape. Her dying mother held her tightly, and she was found among the debris, uninjured. The railway officials suggest that the train was late, and those in charge were endeavouring to make up time. AN INFLAMMABLE DISINFECTANT. Londori, September 18. It transpires in. connection with tho fire that occurred on the Irish express at Colwyn Bay, Carnarvonshire, fliul which was caused by a party of school boys returning to Stonyhurst Collego, that the boys (eight of whom were injured) applied a light to a disinfectant in the lavatory 'to sec if it would burn. Tho carriage was/immediately in flames. A hundred other Stonyhurst College boys from Dublin, were aboard the train.
