SENTENCE OF DEATH.
— « ATTEMPTED MURDER BY A BURGLAR. Bt Teleeraph—Press Association—Copyri&lit Melbourne, September 19. Moore, the burglar, with whom. Mr. Geoffrey Syme had a desperate struggle on August 19, has been found guilty of attempting to murder Mr. Syme, and lias been sentenced to death. (Eec. September 20, 0.55 a.m.) Melbourne, September 19. Moore's counsel urged that the. prisoner had used a revolver to frighten Mr. Syme, and bad not intended to shoot. The jury recommended Mooro to morcy on the ground that he might havo inflicted more serious ham than he did.
