UNIVERSAL SUFFRAGE DEMANDED. 7 e By Telegraph—Press Aesociation-Copyrieht The Hague, September 18. Twenty thousand Socialists held a demonstration in favour of universal suffrage, concurrent with the opening of Parliament. There was some rioting, during which several persons were injured. Tho Government has asked for a preliminary credit of a million and a half florins (.£125,000) for expenditure on fortifications at Flushing and elsewhere.
