Washington, September 18. Two armed and masked men held up a special irain at Stevenson, Alabama. They bound tho mail clerics and covered them with mail sacks, so that they were nearly suffocated when discovered. The robbers leaped from the moving train and escaped with a large sum.

Another hold-up has occurred at San Mateo, California, where two men resisted an armed robber on a train. Both men were shot, and tho robber escaped after relieving the passengers of valuables.
