ACCIDENTS AND FATALITIES.
SMALL GAS EXPLOSIOX. ■Richard Annan, n single man. about *0 years of age, who resides at 28 Ghuzncn Street, was injured in a rather unusual manner early on Tuesday morning. Annan was working in Mullis anri Lambert's bakery, at TCilbirnio. Ho had taken out some wood which had been placed in the oven overnight to dry, and Kid lighted the gas in the oven. Ho had then gone nwav from (he oven, and on returning had found that tlw gas v;as out. He struck a inn loh to relight it. and a sheet of flame burst out against his face and the upner port of his hodv. It if supposed I hat when withdrawing the wood Annan unknowingly knocked the gas-cock and extinguished" the flame, and the gAa had escaped. Annan was taken to the hospital yesterday, and it is reported from that institution that his injuries arc not serious.
