WOMAN WHO LEFT THE ROOM. During tho hearing of the case against Mrs. Gcrtrudo Bennett in tho, Magistrate's Court yesterday, Constable Willctt entered the Courtroom aud whispered something to Sub-Inspector Sheehan. Whereupon tho Sub-Inspector stated to tho magistrate that a woman who had been sitting, in Court during the hearing had gone out and conversed with pcoplo who wero waiting to bo oalled as witnesses. Mr. Riddell, S.M.: Who is it? The Sub-Inspector: The wifo of tho witness Yates. Mr. Biddell; Is there any knowledge that— The Sub-Inspector; If a polico officer were seen doing it serious objection would be taken. His Worship; Oh, yes; it is improper that any communication should take place, but it is impossible to detect such a thing. Mr. M. Myers (counsel for. ..i*rs.
