Following on the niirchaee by the Xew Zealand Shipping Company, Ltd.. of tlio Australian steairors and loading interests uf Jtesrs. Houlder Bros, and Co., Ltd., and the Houlder Lir.e, Limited, in tho Australian trade, Messrs. Houlder Bros, and Co.. Ltd.. are considerably extending and developing their shipping interests, particularly in the Argentine trade. They have arranged for, on account of the Houlder Line, Ltd.. tho purchase of two large twin-screw refrigerated vessels, which will bo engaged in a new weekly line of fast meat-carrying steamers from the Diver Plate to Liverpool, which has been formed by Messrs. Furnsss, Withy, and Co., Ltd., and tho Royal Mail Steam Packet Company. In addition, the Houlder Line is also purchasing five new large iind woll-equipped general cargo steamers for the development of its general cargo interests between tho United Kingdom and the Argentine. The Empire Transport Company, Ltd., which company is also under the management of Messrs. Houlder Bros, and Co., Ltd., has contracted for eight additional largo and well-equipped general trading steamers.
