ELEONORA DE CISNEROS.

At the Opera Rome this evening a musical event will take placethat has been eagerly anticipated by all classes of musiclovers—the first appearance of the illustrious prima donna •' Countess ' Eleoiiora de Cisneros. Her many triumphs with the Melba Grand, Opera Company had already placed her high in the. estimation of Australian music-lovers, and her more recent successes'on the concert platform, where she is forced ta rely, upon her voice for her effects lias raised her liighot than ever. She has shown conclusively that she can grip and charm her audiences without-the aid of light scenery, orchestra,'and all.the other accessories of the operatic stage. She is presenting programmes full of interesting features, of a range and variety such as no previous concert artist has ottered the public. Tonight she will sing the great aria from "Cavalleria Rusticana," "Santuzza's Song," the Habanera from Carmen, Handel's "Largo" with 'cello obbligato, "A Dream" (Bartlett), ".Mother o' Juno" (Tours), "Will o' tho Wisp" (Spross), nrtii other songs, and'will'join with tho tenor in the lovely Barcarolle from "The Tales of Hoffman." Music lovers are looking forward to. hearing the tenor, M. Dulault, who will sing, amongst other, numbers: "Morniug". (Oley Speaks), "Boat Song" (Ware), "Invictus" (Hulm), and "Fatherland," from "Joseph in Egypt." The 'cellist, Mr. James Liebling, comes, with a vary, high reputation as an artist of the highest culture.' To-night he will play Goltermann's "Concerto in A Minor, Popper's "Tarantelle," and "Cantabilo," by-Caesar Cui. The plans are at the Dresden for to-night's concert as well as for the remaining 'concerts'of .the season on Thursday and Friday evenings. The 3s. tickets are at Christe.son's.
