By Telegraph—Press Association—Copyright Sydney, September IG.
It is estimated that the Australian cricketers' dividend- over tho English tour will be .2100 to .£2OO each.
The "Herald," commenting on the tour, says a more disappointing, rain-spoilt tour it would bo hard to imagine. Jutlg- T ing by tho Tests, tho Australians hail nothing to regret; their prostigo had not been lowered. In tho lesser games their record was not so good. Tho batting was somewhat disappointing, and the fielding not brilliant. It was expected: that the bowling would not be very convincing. The wicket-keeping was of a low standard.
Tho "Daily Telegraph" says:—"Tho colts did not fulfil expectation's. Still, in the Tests they did remarkably well. Probably if proved players had gone Home, England would still have won tho triangular supremacy, because no great bowler was left behind. That is Australia's need;" THE TEAM'S SHORTCOMINGS. (Rec. September 10, 10.5 p.m.) London, September 16. "The- Times" says the striking change in the Australians' fortunes was due to the weather, proving that tho team's success dopended on a hard wicket. The Australians were undone badly, but they failed to maintain their predecessors' standard. They' bad no great bowler, not more'than four batsmen above tho:ordiiinry, and no great captain. .
