BUREAU REPORT FOR MONTH. Tho Labour Journal reports that during the past'month there have been in Wellington 172 applications from employers for 43 charwomen, 72 domestic- workers, 1 laundress, 2 pautrymaids, 12 cooks, S housekeepers, 2 waitresses, i nurses, 21 housemaids, 2 huly-hclps, 0 married couples, and 1 bottlewn.slicr. Applications from employees wore Tccoived as follow 1 -: Charwomen, 27; domestic workers, Iβ i < pantry - and kitchen maids, 2; cooks, 5; • housekeepers, 2; .wiitrwes, ■ 4; ■ nurses; -1; housemaids, 5; lady-nelp, I; bottlewashcr, 1; total, 67, Of these 01 were suited. The following engagements were made: Charwomen. 21; domestic workers, 13; pantry, and kitchen maids, 2; rooks, 5; housekeepers, 2; Waitresses, 4; nursra, i; housemaids. 5; lady-help, 1; bottlo- ■ .washer, lj'total, 01. 80 engagements were divided between 27 charwomen; 18 of thofe assisted wero married women, and 43 single; 55 of thorn came, from tho North Island, 2'from the South, and 4 from Great Britain, whilo 19 had been previously assisted. ' ■ On account of tho recent strike at Home, ■' oversea boars have been delcyed. but five will be arriving during the present mOnth. Auckland'.—During the period 221 apnli- , cations have been received and dealt with; ISO of there were from employers and 71 from women desiring employment. Out of these numbers.ss .engagements have been made; one wmnan was suited twice during tho month, thus making 54 persous cent to employment, or, altogether, 109 people suited through this branch.
