APPLES IN HEAVST SUITLY. ' During the week heavy supplies of local applcj! have come to hand at the Blair and Allen Streets.markets, and the«?, together' with consignments from Tasmania and America, have brought values down considerably. A shipment of bananas from Fiji has teen received, bill.at the 'Hide of writing- none had been offered for sale. A shipment of Cook Island hauanas and"oranges also arrived, during the week. The former met with a good demand, but the latter were in bad order. The. potato market has eased slightly since last week, but at present shows no signs of a further decline. A fairly large shipment of onions arrived by the San Francisco steamer, nnd wero landed in very good order. They aro selling at from £17 to, £W per ton. No sales of American apples have taken place so far, but it is anticipated that tho demand will set in next week. The Sydney stea.mer brought a large shipment of fruit, which, with the' exception of one or two small lines, arrived in good order, and sold well. Cauliflower values fell during the week, but other vegetables are in good demand. , Prices ruling are:—Sydney oranges, its. to 11s. Gd. per case; mandarins. 7s. to 11s.; lemons, 6s. to Ss.; Queen pines, Bs. to 95.; others, 6s. 6d. to 7s. Gd.; choice passion fruity 7s. to 95.; other sorts, 4s. to Gs.; Miidura lemous, 10s. to 12s. Of the Tasmanian apples, choice Scarlet Per- . mains are worth Bs. to 95.; Sturmers, 7s. Gd. to Bs. 6d.; and Stone Pippins, Bs. to 9s. Choice local dessert npples are felling at Gs. to 7s. Gd. per cn.<.°, and other sorts at os. ,to as. Gd. Choice cookers bring 7s. to Bs. per case, and other sorts is. Gd. to. 6s: . Choice well packed savoy cabbage command 7s. to Bs. per sack,'and other .sorts,. is. to Gs.; spring cabbage, 7s. to 9s, sack; other sorts, Js. to ss. Gd.; choico cauliflower, ss. to 65.; others,. 2s. Gd. to 45.; carrots, 3s. to 3s. 6d.; parsnips, 3s. Gd.; beetroot, ss. to ss. Gd.; white turnips, 2s. snck;> sivedo turnips, 2s. to 2s. Gd. cwt.; choice lettuce, ss. to Gg. case; others, 3s. to 4s. Rhubarb is now arriving in fair quantities, and is realising Gs. to Us. per dozen. A small line of hothouse tomatces offered brought Is. M. to Is. Gd. per lb. Fresh eggs are selling- at 101-d. per dozen, '
