FREEZERS' DISPUTE.

REFERRED TO ARBITRATION COURT. ißy Telograph.-Pross Association.) Gisbor'ne, September 13. The Conciliation Council resumed its sittings in Gisborno to-day to consider the freezers' dispute, Mr. T. Hurlo Uilre, Conciliation Commissioner, presiding. The Council adjourned on Thursday till today in-order that a point concerning wages might bo referred by the assessors to their respective parties. After further conference by the Council, no settlement was arrived at. The union bad placed tho rate of wages for unspecified lalxmr at a figure that tho employers could not entertain, and as tho question of wages o'Uho higher grades depended entirely upon this minimum arranged for unspecified labour, the employers were of opinion that it was useless to go into details further. That being so. tho Commissioner had no alternative, but ,tq- refer the dispute to tho Arbitration Court.
