CLUB FUNCTION. The annual social gathering of th< South Wellington Football Club was hole iu St. Thomas's Schoolroom on Wednes day evening. There was a large niustci of tho members (about GO), the chair being taken by this president (Mr. J. W Salmon), supported by two vice-presidents, Mr. T. Bland and Mr. Wilson, also by Jlr. C. K. Dick and Mr. Bowles. During the evening, the president presented the following trophies:—The "Progress Cup" (the gift of Mr. E. Bethell), to Bernard Bell; medal (presented by an anonymous donor), for the runner-up for the "Progress Cup," Claude Pyeooft; medal for best all-round fifth-class player (presented by an anonymous donor), H. Tonks. Tho annual report mentioned that 34 games wero played, of which the club won 18 and lost 11, 5 being drawn. The balance-sheet showed that some members are in arrears. Votes of thanks-were accorded tho vicar and vestry cf St. Thomas's for use of club ,room, also to Messrs. Fuller and Son for benefit performance. A vote of thanks was moved by Mr. Wilson, thanking Mr. J. W. Salmon for his services to the club. It was decided that, an attempt. l>e made t<; form a permanent boys' club in Wellington South.
