Although losing tho Governorship, tho Democrats believe they arc sufficiently powerful to secure control of tho other offices.' (Rec. September 11, 8 p.m.) Washington, September 10. Mr. Roosevelt claims that the result of the Maine elections is a victory for the Progressives, as the new Governor is really an adherent of the Roosevelt party, and that understanding led Mr. Roosevelt not to contest the elections against the Regular Republicans. The Regular Republicans have also claimed tho Governor as an adherent.
