A UNION AND ITS EMPLOYEES. By Telegraph—Press Association—Copyright (Rec. September 11, 8 p.m.) London, September 11. 'An extraordinary position has arisen with regard to the cvlerical staff of tho Amalgamated Society of Railway Servants. Some time ago the society, engaged a number of men who had been dismissed for participating in strikes, mid employed them on its clerical stall' at a wage of 30s. a week. These men threatened to strike, on the ground that they were not receiving the 355. a week minimum wage recognised by the National Union of Clerks, and tho society has now dispensed with their services. The dismissed men aro picketing the society's offices to prevent blacklegs from obtaining employment. The situation has been complicated by the National Union of Clerks declaring that tho picketers themselves are blacklegs, as they have been usurping tho positions of qualified clerks.
