A NEW COMET.
DISCOVERY IN SYDNEY. By Telegraph—Press ABsociation-Copyricht Sydney, September 10. Mr. Walter Gale, the astronomer, reports the discovery on Sunday night, with a field glass, of an unexpected comet. Subsequent examination through a tele6copo shows it is of the sixth magnitude nt 7.20 o'clock at night, and that the apparent place determined would bo right ascension 13 hours 37 minutes 1 second, and declination south 3G degrees 31 minutes 2 seconds. This position is nearly midway between (ho stars Tliota. and lota' in the constellation of Centaur. It has a strong central condensation and a short brushlike tail is just visiblo to tho naked eye.
