Shred tho lettuce, cucumber, and herbs, and cook for about five minutes iu tho butter, but do not let them brown. Put them into tho hot stock and cook until tender. Skim, and when cool stir in. the beaten yolks of tho eggs and the cream. Let tho soup stand on ono side of tho stove to get thoroughly hot, but do not let it boil. FOE TO-MORROW. Two ounces almonds, one stalk of celery, ono tablespoonful cream, white stock, sheep's . head, vegetables, parsley, cauliflower, rhubarb, pastry.
