The local office of the Union Company received advice yesterday which stated that the Jloeraki cleared Sydiioy for Wellington direct at 2 p.m. on Saturday. She has on board 99 saloon and-69 steerage passenqers for all porta. The Moeraki is expected to arnrc early to-morrow morning. THE INDHALEMA. An expected arrival in port from New. A FAMOUS SHIP. Though shorn "of most of her former glory,' the old barque Helen Denny, one time wool clipper, and now a humble timber drogher, bears an honourable reputation in the annals of Now Zealand shipping. According to report, the old ship, which arrived at Sydney on Thursday with a load of timber from Havclock, will soon be making her la=t sea voyage. Sh: is - to go to Newcastle to load coal for Wellington, where she if to be dismantled aud converted into a coal hulk. Built in 1866 at Glai-gow, the nelen Denny has been a, successful trader in many parts of ths world for nearly half a century- .She was originally a full-rigged ship, but laler her rip; was altered to that of a barque. Under the tlag oi Messrs. P. Henderson and Co., of Glasgow, she spent the first few years of h?i- career iu trading from Ghiigow to Umitroou mid other Eastern ports. Later on she passed into the fine licet of sailing ships belonging to Jlesfrs. Shaw, SaviH and Co., Ltd.. and thereafter for inmiy years the trailed regularly between London ;'2(l New Zealand. It wae expected to dispatch her from Wcstport on the return trip at 7 p.m. to-day. _ The Union Company's big collier 'Waihora is duo at Wellington from Newcastle, via Lyttelton ou Friday. The Wafteniato, is diie at this port from Newcastle cither tonight yr to-morrow morning. With a full cargo of case oil, the Vacuum Oil Company's chartered steamer Waitraute is due at Wellington, from New York, on Thursday or Friday of this week. The vessel is at present discharging at Napier. A cargo of timber is to be taken from Oreymouth to Sydney by the Opouri. Bound west, the Maoriland Steamship Company's steamer Holmdale passed Wellington Heads at 3.30 p.m. yesterday. The fcow Echo, for East Coast, passed during the morning. Mr; W. Marshall, lighthouse-keeper at Godley Head, htis received notice of transfer to Mocraki lighthouse, and will take up his new duties at a near date. Mr. Garland, assistant-keener at Moeralti, succeeds Mr. Marshall. Mr. E. F. Cain is doing temporary duty at Godley Head, pending Mr. Garland's arrival. Stephen Island reports that tho tramp steamer Falls of lioness, bound from Newcastle to Valparaiso, passed east at 11 a.m. yesterday, ■ and wished to>be reported "All well."
