BIG THEATRICAL DEAL.
MR. H. D. M'INTOSH'S ENTERPRISE. The Sydney "Referee" states that Mr. H. D. M'lutosh has concluded one of the biggest theatrical deals Australia has knowledge <i'. "Tbo money paid," continues the "Referee," "runs well into six figures, and' what is bought includes a 30 years' lease of tho Tivoli Theatre and attached Tivoli Hotel, in Syd'iey; a 42 years' leuse. of the .Melbourne Opera House; and a 19 years' lease of the Adelaide Tivoli Theatre. Contracts for seasons in other Australian capitals and New Zealand, as well as with many Old World stars —among them Harry Lauder, the famous Scottish comedian, and Cissie Loftus—are embraced. Mr. M'lntosh went in quest of the big venture he is in now while the world was yet discussing the Burns-Johnson fight nearlv four years ago, but nothing happened; and afterwards he never left it entirely alone. Now there is for him the satisfaction of having landed a fine prize which inoy meau a large fortune. Hβ will take it over on the 14th instant."
