An accident wihch terminated fatally occurred at the Newmarket railway station this afternoon,.when Frederick G. J'alkner, aged 22, was killed whilst shunt, ing. Falkrier ran in front.of a .train oi' moving wagons. His foot slipped and ho fell, and-before hq could, rise the wagons ran over him. He was removed to the hospital; where he died .half an hour after. His injuries were very severe. The accident is particularly sad, as the young man,tad only been married about a month, and this is the third death in the family within quite n short period, hit. brother and sister dying a few months ago. The deceasad had been in the service , of the Railway Department for the past ' five years,. and was regarded as a very promising young officer. An inquest will oe held to-day.
