Present indications arc for westerly winds, strong to gale, veerine to southerly. The barometer is very unsteady, but is due to rise everywhere soon, Cloudy and unsettled weather, with rain, is probable generally. Snow may be expected on higher lovds in tho Bouth, and a short spell of colder weather generally. The barometer has fallen very low in the south, and an extensive area of low pressure has enveloped tho country. Gales have been experienced in several parts, and the weather has been very unsettled anil showery, with heavy rain on; tho West Coast, but conditions have «up to tJic present proved milder than anticipated.
