LAEGE SHIPMENTS OP FEUIT. During the week there hare been larger supplies than has been the rule at the markets of late of local apples and vegetables', and prices are in consequence inclined to be easier. This weeks Sydney steamer brought forward a large shipment of fruit, which- was landed in very good condition, and sold rcell. The Melbourne boat. brought ' consignments of pears and apples, the former landing in rather bad order.'' The first of the seaeon's asparagus arrived during the wee* •and realised 2s. (3d. to 3s. per lb. bundle. Prides for fruit range as under:—bydney oranges, 7s. to 9s. case; mandarins, 6s. 6d. to Bs. case; Queen pines, Bs. to 10s. case; ordinary pines, 7s. Gd. to 9s. 6d.; loquats, ss. to 6s. pe r ™* i Passion fruit, 6s. to 75.; Mildura lemons, 10s. to 11s. case; choice Tasmanian apples, 9s. to 103. case; pears, 4s. to Bs. per halfcase, according to condition; choice dessert local apples, 7s. 6d. to 10s.; other sorts, 55., 6s. 6d.; cooking apples, 4s. 6d. 7s. 6d. case; local pears (in short supply), Bs. to 9s. per half-ease. Hothouse tomatoes are worth Is. 7d. Ser lb., hothouse cucumbers ss. to Bs. per ozen, and French beans Is. 4Jd. Per lb. Choice cauliflowers bring 4s. 6d. to ss. 6d. ; per sack, other sorts 2s. 6d. to 3s. 6d.; choice cabbage, ss. to 7s. sack; other sorts, 2s. to 45.; beetroot, is. to 55.; parsnips, 3s. 6d. to 4s. 6d.; carrots, 3s. to 45.; white turnips, 2s. per sack; swedes, 2s. to 2s. 6d. cwt; rhubarb, 9s. to 18s. dozen; choice lettuce, Bs. to 9s. sack; other sorts, 2s. 6d. to 4s. 6d. Potatoes command £9 to i! 9 10s. per ton and onions are worth .£2O to £22 per ton. Fresh eggs aTe now down to IOJU. per dozen.
