COLLIERY DISASTER.
FRENCH MINE ON FIRE. SIXTY LIVES LOST. Dy Telegraph—Press Association— Copyrielit Paris, September S. Tho Clarence Mine, at Bethunc, in which 27 men aro entombed in consequence of an explosion uf liru-damp, is on fire. There aro frequent explosions. Two of tho rescuers have been killed'and three seriously injured. It is feared that tho majority of (hose rescued from the mine will succumb to their injuries. Several terribly mutilated bodies have been recovered. (liec. September 5, 11.15 p.m.) Paris, September 5. Sixty men aro dead at Bethuno. Most of tlio bodies aro unidentifiable, Five of tho injured men have succumbed.
