Tho number of boats under davits will depend on the length of a vessel instead of i_fs tonnage as in tho past. The existing eollapsiblo boats must ho replaced by life-boats. Tho rulo decreasing tho number of bonts to bo carried where efficient watertight compartments are provided is to bo abrogated. It'is laid down that steps are to bo tnkcu to secure efficient boat-hands.
