A hundred thousand persons attended seventy-six meetings organised by the Social Democratic Tarty, and protested against the increase in the cost of living. The meetings demanded the abolition of food taxes, the removal of indirect food duties, the opening of tho frontiers to foreign cattle and meat, and the immediate convocation of the Reichstag to accomplish the demands.
