Nqr«wood on Saturday morning, lmder suspicious circumstances, which fad to ths arrest of h?r husband ou a e'acrgo 01' murder. The inquest was not concluded. Evidence • was given which showed that deceased was in a good state of health on Friday at 4 p.m., when she .was last seen. .She. was.then left in the houso "with'her husband.

An industrial dispute between the Amalgamated Society of Carpenters and Joiners, tho Auckland Builders' and Contractors Union of Employers, and a larse number of other employers was brouirht to its final'stages before the Conciliation Council to-day. All the clauses bnt two were mutually agreed upon, and the two still in dispute will be referred to the Court of Arbitration. ••' '

The defence pleaded.that it -was not liable, as.-plaintiff was receiving £5 a week wajSes at the time of the accident. Plainfnff denied that he was receiviug more than M wages, the other pound being for 'incidentals' whilst away from homo. The-Court reserved judgment.
