WADESTOWN ROADS.

RATEPAYERS INDIGNANT. A meeting of the Wadestown ratepayers was held in the Social Hall, Pitt Street, last evening. Mr. E. Wylio was in the chair. The chairman commented on the bad state of the roads about Wadestown, and said that tho Ratepayers' Association had approached the City Couiucil. H« remarked'oir the laxity of the City Council "in replying to , letters from the association, , but. he thought-that if tho ratepayers would back up • the association something more might, be done. The city.engineer, who had inspected the roads, had reported on their bad state, but had said tljiit nothing could lie' done until the laying of tho gas and water-mains had beeai completed. Tho speaker, however, thought that temporary repairs might havo been, effected if tho City Council had treated Wadostown properly.- / Mr. F. Sir.' Wiffin moved a motion to the effect that tho cxecutivo of tho Ratepayers' Association be instructed to write to the Outlying Districts Committee of the City Council, and invite them to view tho roads in Wadestown on a wet day, ond request them to push on the permanent formation of the roads as soon as the drainage was completed, and to ask them when the drainage would be competed. The motion was seconded by Mr. Larkin, and was carried without dissent.
