By-products.—.£lß,79s. The outlook for tho ensuing season is exceptionally bright. Three new cheese factories have been opened on the borders of the county, and all the -factories that have resumed report largely- increased supplies as compared with those received for the corresponding period last'year. . A special meeting of the Pahiatua Central Branch of the New Zealand Farmers' "Union will be held here tb-inorrow lor the purpose of consideiing the advisability of the sale and exchange of farming properties being conducted through the local branch of the union. It ;s claimed that if the .scheme were adopted an immense saving in percentage in commission would be effected. Also that prospective buyers would receive sounder and moro reliable information from the union officials fu connection wit!, the various properties submitted l'or tlu-ir inspection. Tho .scheme would also iespiro confidence amongst buyers. Prominent farmers have expressed themselves in very favourable terms to the proposal, and a large gathering is anticipated.
