BISHOP ON SOCIALISM.
A SERMON RESENTED,

London, September 2. During the slack hours of thu trade. Union Congress, the delegates assembled at Newport, mid Bishop' Welldon,' in a sormon in ii church servce, advised thorn not to mix the policy of trade unionism with half-digested Socialist theories. Mr. Will Thome, the well-known Labour M.r., in addressing a subsequent mnss meeting, declared that Bishop Welldon did not know what he was talking about. Socialism mid trade unionism were economically inseparable. Bishop Welldon, Mr. Thome declared, spoke for his class —tlio idle rich—who robbed the workers.
