THE COUNTRY STOREKEEPER NEEDS THE MOTOR-CARRIER. In most retail businesses the cost of delivering parcels is one of the important items of expense, and especially is this the case in regard to the country 6tore, where deliveries have to be made over a. very largo area of country. Even with the best of horses and the lightest of vehicles the delivery rounds take a long time, and the distance covered is limited by tho capacity of (he horeo. The big delivery firms in London found out long ago that horse-van delivery was too costly. Tliey ascertained that the cost was Cd. pur' mile. The motor-carrier took the place of the horses, gave twice as fast a service and covered twice as much ground, at u cost of only Id. per mile. We have just received delivery of a light, but vory strong, motor-carrier, which carries eoods up to half a ton, under cover. The engine is of 0-8 h.p., of simple strong design, and anyoiin could learn to drive the- carrier in half an hour. It is very economical on petrol, running about GO miles to the-gallon, and the tyres only cost .£2 r>s. per cover. There aiv two gears, and the carrier will climb any hill. The Melbourne Post Office is using ten of these carriers at. present. The price is low, J! 145, but the carrier is guaranteed to do its work much faster and much cheaper than any horse-driven vehicle. Write for particulars. We have in stock a good second-hand Ttumber car, 10-12 h.p.. at .£l.)0; a Reo at. .£73. and a four-seated Oldsmobile at. XSO. All in good order.
