There was a larfo and representative gathering from all parts of the district, about eight hundred travelling by roil from Kelson and intermediate stations, and three hundred by road from Murchison. About twenty members of Parliament: wore also prorent. .Speeches were made by representative citizens in. regard to tho potentialities of the Murc'hison district, and urging the speedy prosecution of the line to link up with (lie West Co.\st Mniiv Trunk line, there being at (he present time some GO miles only between the. railheads. Tlio Minister nnd party were entertained nt luncheon, oiul on rolnrn to town a banquet wns held in their honour. The Minister and Parliamentary party return by Uw llinemoa late to-night.
