THE NEW THEATRE. The, principal item on the complete change of programmo screened at the iN'ow Theatre yesterday is entitled/the "Ones Who Suiter." Xt is a pathetic Selig drama, and tells the story of an escaped convict, who believing that ho has successfully evaded the authorities, marries, and settles down to live a respectable life; Just when he imagines he has buried his past a meagre wretch, thinking .'of a paltry reward, betrays him to the authorities, and ho is taken back to prison to do the rest of his sentence, with an additional penalty. While he is in. prison his wife aud children die. Having worked out bis soutence, he is released, and with a lust for vengeance he sets out to kill the man who sent him to prison. Ho tracks him to his dwelling, and enters. Just' as ho is about to kill tha iaan,.hra sees the man's wile and children, and remembering his own family, he is 6truCk with remorse, and spares his hated .enemy;; "Trout Farming in Surrey" is an instructive film showing tho- various methods of breeding. "A Temporary ,Truce" is .a solid A,B. Indian Wild Western drama of the early times. Two parties of whites are fighting when the In-dians-appear on the 6ccne. The whites then forget- their own-feud, and combine to fight the Indians. Among the comedies "The Old Kent Road," by tho v'afraph Co.', . and "Three Men in » Fix," y the Edison Co., are tho most amusing, j This programme -will be repeated to-day and to-night, and on Monday pn Manner's famous plu.Y of "Trilby" will be depicted. . HORACE. HUNT'S CONCERT. The programme for Mr. Hunt's conccrt In tha Town Hall on Thursday next will appear on Wednesday, and it is stated that it will be found to'be of a high standard. Mr. Hunt will contribute a -fine selection' of music for the gTand organ. Mr. Barry Coney, the well-known baritone, will render songs by Verdi* Strauss, and others. . At 0.4 a a.m. this morning an outbreak of fire occurred at No. 5 Cumberland Avenue. • The building is occupied by Mr. F. C;: Cooper, builder and con- ) tractor. Very little damage was done. The fire was apparently caused through electric wiros fusing inside tho building. The old-established firm of Robert Martin, Ltd., has made efforts to introduce into this country tho applied art of manufacturing stained glass windows. At present there stands on exhibition in their Wifidow/a magnificent sample of this work, namely, a, replica in stained glass of Holman Hunt's masterpiece, "The light-of'the'-'World." Tho whole of the work is executed.in'every detail upon.the firm's premises in Manners Street. The poso arid expression of tho figure, with the rich' colouring in the elaborate ornamentation, form a pleasing and graceful picture.'
