M'lntosli, the boxing promoter, has secured a thirty years' leaso of the whole of the late Mr. Rickards's theatrical business. Mr. Hugh D.'M'lntosh was a Sydney bnlcor. Some five years ago lie turned his attention to a revival of boxing in that city, built a stadium at Rushcutters' Bay, Sydney, and engineered the big fight for the championship of the world between Johnson and Bums, which is said to have produced the biggest "gate" on record, i Since then all the big boxing matches in Australia have been fought under his auspices at tho Stadium, the latest being the threo meetings _ of Langford and M'Vea. Flushed with his success as an "impressario" in the line, ho went to London two years ago and organised 6ome big fights ther6, but financially thsy wore not nearly so successful as those in Australia.
