The scramble over the sito for the proi posed Agricultural College for the North Island is to be participated in by Wanganui, and tlie matter was discussed at a , meeting of the Wanganui Agricultural Association this afternoon, when tho opinion of the majority seemed to be that the Moumahaki State Farm would bo a. suitable site, though Marton was also suggested ns being more handy for Hawke'e Day, Mauawatu, and the Main Trunk. In the course of tho discussion the chairman (Mr. Fred Moore) remarked that farmers in the 'Wanganui district were farmers in name only—not gwd, practical farmers—and the college was wanted in order <o teach young fellows how to farm. Eventually it was decided to write to the Government, asking what area was required, and other details, and, on receipt of this information, 1» go further into the matter.
