In order to do so he has acquired a seven years' lease of the Adelphi Theatre ■ in Willis Street, from.the Adelphi Picture l Company, which is to hand over the t theatre early in October. t Mr. George Nathan, the managing direct tor of the Adelphi Company, states that ■ the company was formed in August of last year to take a seven years' lease of Mr. Thomas Coverdale's theatre, and run it as a picture show. The theatre was opeinI c-d on May 21 last, and has been run at a ' profit to date. The terms on which Mr. ' J. D. Williams takps over the theatre arc highly satisfactory to the shareholders. , Arrangements have been made for a supply of new films during the balance of the , company's tenure of the Willis t Street J premises. ■ : Mr. J. D. Williams is the managing director of the company known as J. D. , Williams the Greater, which controls sevi eral picture shows in Sydney and Melbourne. Lately he opened a big amusement emporium in George Street, Sydney, entitled the Crystal Palace, which includes almost every kind of American side show, ' a picture theatre, and a large restaurant.
