At a meeting to-day of the newly-fonn»6 Matahiwi Cheese TTaotory Company, Messrs. Bygnm, Fisher and Tankersley were elected directors; It was decided to officially open the factory on September 9. Owing to the early spring tho price of milk' in Masterton is being reduced this week to threepence per quart. ' An effort is to ho mado to indnce tho Government this session to adopt the proposals contained in tho Education Commission's report that power shonld be ptiren to convert district high schools in pastoral and agricultural districts into agricultural high schools, similar to those in existence in Victoria and New South Wales. Most of the dairy factories in tho district open for the season this week. . !
